Data controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is: Kenneth Bolyard, Mountaineer Athletics, Reuterallee 8, 64297 Darmstadt-Eberstadt, Germany. You can reach us through the contact form on this website.
Contact form
When you use the contact form, we process the information you provide (name, email address, optionally a phone number, and your message) in order to answer your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling inquiries) or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your inquiry is aimed at entering into a contract (e.g. coaching).
Event registration and account
To register for a workshop or event we need your first name, last name, phone number, email address, and details of the option you booked. This data is processed to carry out your registration and run the event (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, performance of a contract). Registering requires an account: sign-in is passwordless via a magic link we email you (your email address and sign-in time are stored for this purpose).
Hosting
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA). Technically necessary access data (e.g. IP address, browser type, time of access) is processed when you visit the site. Where this involves a transfer of data to the US, it relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards provided by Vercel.
Spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)
To protect the contact form from automated spam, this website uses Cloudflare Turnstile, provided by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA). When a page with the contact form loads, Turnstile checks in the background whether the visitor is a human – you are only asked to click a checkbox if it is unsure. To do this, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser and device information. This data is used solely to prevent abuse, not for advertising or tracking. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting this website from abuse. Where this involves a transfer of data to the US, it relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards provided by Cloudflare. Database and email delivery
Registration data is stored in a database hosted with Neon. Confirmation and notification emails (e.g. the sign-in link, event confirmations with a calendar invite) are sent through our email provider, Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France).
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your email address and preferred language to send you news about workshops, events and training. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Subscribing requires an account (sign-in by email link). Newsletters are sent through our email provider Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France). You can withdraw your consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in every newsletter or in your profile; we then stop sending it.
Cookies and analytics
We use a technically necessary session cookie for sign-in, which does not require consent. This site also uses Vercel Web Analytics, a cookie-free analytics tool with no personal data involved. Google Analytics is only loaded if you explicitly accept it via the cookie banner; in that case, data may be transferred to Google LLC (USA). You can withdraw or change your consent at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.
Retention period
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the relevant purpose, or as required by statutory retention periods. Contact inquiries are deleted once they have been fully handled and no retention obligation remains.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, and restrict the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to object to processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your competent data protection supervisory authority. For any data-protection request, please contact us via the contact form.
